Pariso’s Point the Difference as Tennis Wins, 5-4

Pioneers Earn Team Victory at Farmingdale State

Sophomore Caitlin Pariso provided the deciding point at sixth singles during a 5-4 team victory at Farmingdale State.

FARMINGDALE, N.Y. – Sophomore Caitlin Pariso (Old Bridge, N.J./Old Bridge) provided the deciding point at sixth singles as the William Paterson tennis team (3-4) came away with a 5-4 team victory at Farmingdale State (4-2) Sept. 25.

Freshman Brittany LaBruna (Bloomingdale, N.J./Continental Academy) and junior Kristy Daubert (Cranford, N.J./Cranford) registered an 8-5 win at first doubles, and senior Mary Skretkowicz (Midland Park, N.J./Midland Park) and junior Jessica Daniels (Edison, N.J./Edison) posted a 9-7 victory at second doubles.

LaBruna stayed perfect (7-0) at first singles with a 6-2, 6-1 result, while Daniels had a 6-4, 6-4 win at third singles. Pariso provided the winning point, winning the first set, 6-2, and then bouncing back from a tiebreaker loss in the second set (6-7) for a 6-1 victory in the third.

William Paterson will host Kean Wednesday, Oct. 2, at 6:00 p.m.
