Box Score WAYNE, N.J. – Three Pioneers were in double figures in kills as the William Paterson volleyball team (9-0, 1-0 NJAC) started its New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) schedule with a 25-21, 25-16, 25-17 sweep of New Jersey City (1-7, 0-1 NJAC) Sept. 19.
Junior outside hitter
Daniella Salemo (Ramsey, N.J./Ramsey) put down a match-best 14 kills, adding 11 kills, and junior middle hitter
Shauna VanDeRee (Waldwick, N.J./Waldwick) finished with 10 kills and a team-best 17 digs. Freshman outside hitter
Mary Long (Morristown, N.J./Morristown) chipped in 10 kills and three block solos, junior setter
Danielle Koukos (Midland Park, N.J./Midland Park) dished out 26 assists, senior outside hitter
Amanda Morales (Lyndhurst, N.J./Lyndhurst) had 10 digs and freshman outside hitter
Erin Roach (Clark, N.J./Union County Vo-Tech) contributed 12 digs.
Junior middle/outside hitter Jade Medley paced NJCU with nine kills, junior setter Madelyn Leon had 20 assists and senior libero Cindy Garcia contributed 22 digs.
William Paterson will compete in a tri-match Saturday, Sept. 21, facing Old Westbury at 2:00 p.m. and host St. Joseph's-Long Island at 4:00 p.m.
