Box Score HOBOKEN, N.J. – The William Paterson men's soccer team (5-1-1) couldn't overcome No. 5 Stevens (5-0-1), suffering its first loss of the year during a 3-0 decision Sept. 18.
Colin Phillips started things for the Ducks during the 30th minute of play after Carson Pryor slipped a pass into the right side of the box and Phillips sent the ball into the upper-left corner of the frame. Edward Rupp made it a 2-0 game at the 39:30 mark, heading in the rebound of a Phillips shot.
Stephen Dunbar finished a back-and-forth with Harrison Kane, scoring inside the right post for a 3-0 edge in the 64th minute.
Freshman
Mike Diacheysn (Nutley, N.J./Nutley) collected four saves for the Pioneers, and Paul Killian had three for Stevens. The Ducks enjoyed a narrow 12-9 shot advantage.
William Paterson will begin New Jersey Athletic Conference play Saturday, Sept. 21, at home against New Jersey City at 1:00 p.m.
