Volleyball Improves to 5-0 with Win at King’s

Pioneers Defeat Lady Monarchs in Straight Sets

Box Score WILKES-BARRE, PA. – The William Paterson volleyball team improved to 5-0 this season with a 27-25, 25-13, 25-21 win at King's (5-1) Sept. 12. Junior outside hitter Daniella Salemo (Ramsey, N.J./Ramsey) paced the Pioneers with a double-double, contributing 10 kills and 13 digs.

Junior setter Danielle Koukos (Midland Park, N.J./Midland Park) registered 22 assists and six digs, and junior middle hitter Shauna VanDeRee (Waldwick, N.J./Waldwick) posted 10 kills and three block assists. Freshman outside hitter Mary Long (Morristown, N.J./Morristown) collected a team-best 17 digs, while classmate Erin Roach (Clark, N.J./Union County Vo-Tech) chipped in 15 digs and seven assists.

Elen O'Donnell had nine kills and 16 digs for the Lady Monarchs, and Mary Loughran collected 29 assists.

William Paterson will compete in a tri-match Saturday, Sept. 14, facing host Saint Elizabeth at 11:00 a.m. and Rosemont at 1:00 p.m.
