PATCHOGUE, N.Y. – The William Paterson women's swimming & diving team (7-1) defeated St. Joseph's-Long Island (1-1), 111-79, Nov. 23.
The Pioneers had two double winners. Freshman
Vera Blazevska (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Valley) touched first in the 100 (1:01.97) and 1,000 (11:55.98) frees, and sophomore
Gabrielle Porcaro (Belleville, N.J./Belleville) took first in the 200 (2:16.26) and 500 (6:02.10) frees.
Junior
Sheri Brino (Ogdensburg, N.J./Wallkill Valley Regional) posted a winning time of 28.44 in the 50 free, and classmate
Courtney Starace (Toms River, N.J./Toms River East) placed first in the 100 breast (1:23.41).
Senior
Kathryn Burke (Sewell, N.J./Washington Twp.) won the 100 fly in 1:05.94.
William Paterson will host Mount St. Mary on Saturday, Dec. 7, at 1:00 p.m.
