WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson women's swimming & diving team (4-0) earned its fourth-straight victory, defeating visiting Purchase (0-2), 106-94, Nov. 2.
The Pioneers had five double winners. Sophomore
Gabrielle Porcaro (Belleville, N.J./Belleville) posted season-best times in the 500 (5:57.91) and 1,000 (12:23.92) frees. Classmate
Brittany English (Branchville, N.J./High Point Regional) won the 100 (59.96) and 200 (2:13.80) frees.
Senior
Kathryn Burke (Sewell, N.J./Washington Twp.) placed first in the 50 free (28.37) and a turned in a season-low time of 1:04.73 in the 100 fly. Freshman
Vera Blazevska (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Valley) took first the 200 IM in 2:24.79 and the 100 breast in 1:12.82.
Freshman
Courtney Lawler (Northfield, N.J./Mainland Regional) won the one-meter (194.25) and three-meter (167.40) dives, and junior
Sheri Brino (Ogdensburg, N.J./Wallkill Valley Regional) touched first in the 100 back (1:06.72).
William Paterson will host Rowan on Wednesday, Nov. 6, at 6:00 p.m.
