NEWARK, N.J. – William Paterson (5-4, 2-3 NJAC) picked up its second conference win of the season with a 5-4 victory at Rutgers-Newark (3-7, 0-6 NJAC) Oct. 8.

Freshman Brittany LaBruna (Bloomingdale, N.J./Continental Academy) and junior Kristy Daubert (Cranford, N.J./Cranford) defeated Michelle Kvitnitsky and Yara Elsekhely at first doubles, 8-0, while senior Mary Skretkowicz (Midland Park, N.J./Midland Park) and junior Jessica Daniels (Edison, N.J./Edison) picked up an 8-4 win at second doubles against Dhaneya Kumar and Michelle Nagamine.

LaBruna cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 victory at first singles against Kumar, and Daniels posted a 6-1, 6-2 win against Elsekhely at third singles. Freshman Ashley Vidal (North Bergen, N.J./North Bergen) rounded out the night with a 6-2, 7-5 sixth-singles victory against Maria Larrea.

William Paterson will compete at Rutgers-Camden Thursday, Oct. 10, at 3:00 p.m.
