THROGGS NECK, N.Y. – The 200 free relay team of senior
Troy Buglio (Toms River, N.J./Toms River East), junior
Bobby Boyton (Sewell, N.J./Clearview Regional), and sophomores
Zachary Krakauskas (Egg Harbor City, N.J /Absegami) and
Nicolai Robinson (Matawan, N.J./Old Bridge) posted a winning time of 1:31.90 in the final event of the night to capture a 126-116 victory for the William Paterson men's swimming & diving team (3-0) at Maritime (1-1), Oct. 30.
Junior
Evan Marine (Forked River, N.J./Lacey Twp.) was a double winner for the Pioneers, touching first in the 200 IM (2:09.35) and winning the 100 back in 57.90, defeating his opponent by .09 seconds. Sophomore
Eric Tracey (Newton, N.J./Kittatinny Regional) won the 50 (23.34) and 100 (51.77) frees.
Freshman
Nick Cowie (Newton, N.J./Newton) recorded a winning time of 56.45 in the 100 fly.
Although Maritime won more races than WP, the Pioneers relied on their depth and ability to take second and third place in events to help earn the victory.
William Paterson will host Purchase on Saturday, Nov. 2, at 1:00 p.m.
