Box Score 2 KINGS POINT, N.Y. – The William Paterson volleyball team (19-6) earned a 3-2 victory against host U.S. Merchant Marine (10-4) and a 3-0 win against York, N.Y. (6-18) at a tri-match Oct. 26.
The Pioneers defeated the Mariners, 25-19, 23-25, 22-25, 25-9, 16-14. Freshman outside hitter
Erin Roach (Clark, N.J./Union County Vo-Tech) had nine kills and a team-best 16 digs, while freshman outside hitter
Mary Long (Morristown, N.J./Morristown) collected nine kills and 14 digs. Junior setter
Danielle Koukos (Midland Park, N.J./Midland Park) registered 24 assists, 11 digs and three service aces, and junior middle hitter
Shauna VanDeRee (Waldwick, N.J./Waldwick) collected eight kills and 12 digs.
Against the Cardinals, WP posted a 25-14, 25-12, 25-17 sweep. VanDeRee and Roach paced the Pioneers with nine kills apiece, each contributing seven digs, and Roach served seven aces. Long added eight kills to her match-best 12 digs, and Koukos tallied 28 assists.
William Paterson will host Cedar Crest Tuesday, Oct. 29, at 7:00 p.m.
