WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson men's swimming & diving team (1-0) earned a 116-89 victory in its season opener against Baruch (0-1), Oct. 23.
The Pioneers had two double winners. Senior
Troy Buglio (Toms River, N.J./Toms River East) touched first in the 200 (1:55.35) and 500 (5:24.22) frees. Classmate
Jeffrey Jaeckel (Kenilworth, N.J./David Brearley) won the one-meter (243.225) and three-meter (203.565) dives.
Senior
Corey Matthews (Toms River, N.J./Toms River North) posted a winning time of 11:30.27 in the 1,000 free, and junior
Evan Marine (Forked River, N.J./Lacey Twp.) placed first in the 200 IM (2:10.98)
The 200 free relay team of Buglio, junior
Bobby Boyton (Sewell, N.J./Clearview Regional), sophomore
Zachary Krakauskas (Egg Harbor City, N.J /Absegami) and sophomore
Nicolai Robinson (Matawan, N.J./Old Bridge) recorded a winning time of 1:34.38.
Freshman
Nick Cowie (Newton, N.J./Newton) touched first in the 100 fly (57.32)
William Paterson will travel to FDU-Florham on Sunday, October 27, at 12:00 p.m.
