Long Paces Pioneers with 12 Kills

WAYNE, N.J. – Freshman outside hitter Mary Long (Morristown, N.J./Morristown) posted a match-best 12 kills as the William Paterson volleyball team (14-5) breezed past visiting Purchase (6-9), 25-11, 25-9, 25-22, Oct. 17.

Long added 10 digs and three service aces, while junior setter Danielle Koukos (Midland Park, N.J./Midland Park) collected 29 assists, three aces and 10 digs. Junior middle hitter Shauna VanDeRee (Waldwick, N.J./Waldwick) posted 10 kills and six digs.

Freshman Alicia McCarthy led the Panthers with 10 kills, freshman Olivia Schoeller dished out 22 assists and classmate Alex Lally contributed 12 digs.

William Paterson will host a tri-match Saturday, Oct. 19, taking on Brooklyn at 11:00 a.m. and Mount Saint Mary at 3:00 p.m.
