Box Score NEWARK, N.J. – All six starters were in double figures in digs as the William Paterson volleyball team (13-5, 2-4 NJAC) picked up a key New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) victory, 3-0, Oct. 15 at Rutgers-Newark (6-11, 0-5 NJAC).
The Pioneers currently sit in sixth place in the league standings, one match behind Ramapo (3-2) and Kean (3-2), with two conference matches remaining. The top six teams will qualify for the NJAC Tournament that begins Nov. 5.
Junior middle hitter
Shauna VanDeRee (Waldwick, N.J./Waldwick) led WP with 16 kills, adding 15 digs, while junior setter
Danielle Koukos (Midland Park, N.J./Midland Park) had 42 assists and 13 digs. Freshman outside hitter
Erin Roach (Clark, N.J./Union County Vo-Tech) collected a team-best 20 digs, freshman
Mary Long (Morristown, N.J./Morristown) posted 11 kills and 16 digs, junior outside hitter
Daniella Salemo (Ramsey, N.J./Ramsey) finished with 13 kills and 12 digs, and senior outside hitter
Amanda Morales (Lyndhurst, N.J./Lyndhurst) had 16 digs.
Adrianna Pagnotta led the Scarlet Raiders with 10 kills, adding 19 digs. Emilie Pulecio contributed 22 assists and Paulina Walega had 30 digs.
William Paterson will host Purchase Thursday, Oct. 17, at 7:00 p.m.
