Liz Dykhouse (Wanaque, N.J./Lakeland Regional) dished out 22 assists to help lead the William Paterson volleyball team (4-0) to a 3-1 victory against Brooklyn (0-3) in the Pioneers' home opener Sept. 4.
WP bounced back from a 21-25 loss in the first set to win the next three by scores of 25-14, 25-16 and 25-9. Sophomore middle hitter
Shauna VanDeRee (Waldwick, N.J./Waldwick) led the offense with 11 kills, adding five digs, while sophomore outside hitter
Taylor Woegens (Bogota, N.J./Bogota) posted 10 kills and five digs. Junior middle hitter
Erika Masso (Jersey City, N.J./Dickinson) paced the Pioneers with 13 digs while tallying seven kills, and sophomore setter
Danielle Koukos (Midland Park, N.J./Midland Park) notched 10 assists, five digs and three service aces.
Sophomore Kayla Scurry led the Bulldogs with eight kills, classmate Fanny Ng had 13 digs and senior Kathy Chu contributed 21 assists.
William Paterson will play at Lehman Thursday, Sept. 6, at 7:00 p.m.
