JERSEY CITY, N.J. – William Paterson (8-1, 1-0 NJAC) used a balanced team effort to earn a 3-1 victory in its New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) volleyball opener at New Jersey City (3-1, 0-1 NJAC) Sept. 13. After dropping the first set, 23-25, the Pioneers rallied for 25-18, 25-22 and 27-25 victories.
Sophomore outside hitter
Taylor Woegens (Bogota, N.J./Bogota) posted 11 kills, sophomore libero
Katelyn Malloy (Leonia, N.J./Leonia) collected 16 digs, and senior setter
Liz Dykhouse (Wanaque, N.J./Lakeland Regional) nearly had a triple-double with 20 assists, eight kills and nine digs. Junior outside hitter
Amanda Morales (Lyndhurst, N.J./Lyndhurst) contributed 14 digs and four service aces, sophomore setter
Danielle Koukos (Midland Park, N.J./Midland Park) chipped in 10 digs and 11 assists, and junior middle hitter
Erika Masso (Jersey City, N.J./Dickinson) collected nine digs and six kills. Freshman outside hitter
Issel Garcia (Ridgefield Park, N.J./Ridgefield Park) added six kills off the bench.
Jade Medley had 11 kills for the Gothic Knights, and Cindy Garcia posted 29 assists and 16 digs.
William Paterson will host Kean Tuesday, Sept. 18, at 7:00 p.m.
