Women’s Swimming & Diving Completes Second Day at Metropolitan Championships

Pioneers Finish Eighth in 200 Medley Relay A Final

Freshman Sheri Brino was eighth in the 100 back B Final (1:03.11) at the Metropolitan Championships.
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Freshman Sheri Brino (Ogdensburg, N.J./Wallkill Valley Regional), senior Brett Kuchin (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill East), senior Stephanie Smith (West Orange, N.J./West Orange) and sophomore Lauren Carney (East Brunswick, N.J./East Brunswick) touched eighth in the 200 medley relay A Final (1:55.64) to lead the William Paterson women's swimming and diving team during the second day of the Metropolitan Championships Feb. 18 at Rutgers University.

Senior Lesly Mendoza (Passaic, N.J./Paramus Catholic), Brino, Kuchin and Carney were 12th in the 800 free relay (8:46.68).

Brino was eighth in the B Final (1:03.11) and Carney placed second in the C Final (1:03.52) in the 100 back.

Kuchin finished eighth in the 100 breast B Final (1:10.77).

In the 400 IM C Final, junior Kerry Doris (East Brunswick, N.J./East Brunswick) was first (5:06.70) and freshman Courtney Starace (Toms River, N.J./Toms River East) touched seventh (5:19.76).

William Paterson will finish competition at the Metropolitan Championships Sunday, Feb. 19.
