William Paterson is 3-5 overall and 1-5 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) following a 35-24 loss at The College of New Jersey (3-5, 2-4 NJAC) Oct. 26.
Junior
Ryan Gresik (Newton, N.J./Newton) is 134-for-229 for 1,645 yards, 11 touchdowns and five interceptions under center. He ranks fourth in the league in passing average (205.6 yards/game) and total offense (217.5 yards/game).
Sophomore running back
Isaac Jlaka (Phillipsburg, N.J./Phillipsburg) has 40 attempts for 178 yards and a score.
Junior wide receiver
Mick Paye (Lumberton, N.J./Rancocas Valley Regional) leads the Pioneers with 34 receptions, 514 yards and four touchdown catches. Senior tight end
Joseph Cordato (Bayonne, N.J./Bayonne) has caught 22 passes for 196 yards and a TD, and junior wide receiver
Howard Davis (Franklin Park, N.J./Franklin) has 19 catches for 257 yards and three touchdowns.

German Decena (Union City, N.J./Emerson) owns 63 tackles (29 solo; 7.9 tackles/game, tied-12th in NJAC), a fumble recovery and a 70-yard interception return for a score (at Maritime, Sept. 29). Senior linebacker
Clifton Glaze (Palmyra, N.J./Palmyra) has 57 stops (14 solo, 2.5 TFL) and an interception, and senior free safety
Javon Hodges (Parlin, N.J./Sayreville War Memorial) has recorded 46 tackles (22 solo, 4.5 TFL). Junior
Andre Snead (Atlantic City, N.J./Atlantic City) has tallied 32 tackles (21 solo) and a pair of interceptions, one of which was taken back 33 yards for a touchdown (at Morrisville State, Oct. 20), and senior cornerback
Adam Curry (Sayreville, N.J./Sayreville War Memorial) has made 44 stops (29 solo, 1.5 TFL).

Julian Frazier (Plainfield, N.J./North Plainfield) has been pressed into punting duties due to an injury suffered by all-NJAC honoree
Cory Mundt (Rockaway, N.J./Morris Hills), and Frazier is averaging 36.6 yards per attempt. Hodges is averaging 12.1 yards per punt return, good for first in the league, and Jlaka is averaging 14.7 yards per kickoff return.
William Paterson returned nine offensive starters and eight defensive starters from a 2011 team that finished 4-6 overall and 3-6 in New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) play. The Pioneers, who welcomed back 54 letterwinners and five all-conference selections, were predicted to finish sixth in the 2011 NJAC Preseason Coaches Poll.
Scouting the Colonials
Western Connecticut is 1-7 overall and 1-6 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) after a 20-14 overtime win against Montclair State (3-5, 3-3 NJAC) Oct. 27. The Colonials, under the direction of head coach Joe Loth, were predicted to finish ninth in the 2012 NJAC Preseason Poll.
Sophomore quarterback Will Arndt is 141-for-278 for 1,526 yards, with 12 touchdowns and 15 interceptions under center.
Junior running back Octavius McKoy leads the Colonials with 599 yards on 159 carries, adding seven touchdowns on the ground, and has 30 receptions (182 yards).
Freshman wide receiver Connor Falaguerra leads WestConn with 47 catches for 582 yards and seven scores. He ranks fourth in the league in receiving yards/game (72.8) and fifth in receptions (5.9 per game). Sophomore wide receiver Marquies Highsmith has 32 catches for 450 yards and four touchdowns.
Junior linebacker Michael Lacaria leads the Colonials with 84 tackles (53 solo, 4.5 TFL; 10.5 per game, first in NJAC) and two fumble recoveries, adding a fumble forced and an interception. Junior strong safety Tyrell Ballard has 62 stops (43 solo, 6.5 TFL), an interception and a fumble forced, and senior linebacker Corey Lawlor has collected 62 tackles (36 solo, 4.5 TFL) and a team-best two interceptions. Junior defensive end Devin Myers paces WCSU with 8.0 tackles for a loss (tied-fourth in conference), including 5.0 sacks (second in league), and has a NJAC-best four fumbles forced.
Sophomore Ryan Falaguerra has averaged 39.1 yards per punt to rank third in the conference. Sophomore Tommy Bruder is 10-for-12 on PATs and made his only field-goal attempt, freshman Bobby Durham is averaging 19.0 yards on kickoff returns and Connor Falaguerra has averaged 5.1 yards per punt return (fourth in NJAC).
Western Connecticut was 0-10 overall and 0-9 in the NJAC last fall.
