Women’s Swimming & Diving Defeats St. Joseph’s

Pioneers Win 101-65

Junior Lauren Carney was a double winner for the Pioneers
WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson women's swimming and diving team (1-2) defeated visiting St. Joseph's- Long Island (1-1) 101-65 Nov. 28.

The Pioneers had three double winners. Sophomore Sheri Brino (Ogdensburg, N.J./Wallkill Valley Regional) won the 200 IM (2:32.35) and the 200 back (2:27.42). Junior Lauren Carney (East Brunswick, N.J./East Brunswick) posted winning times in the 50 free (27.94) and 100 free (59.80). Freshman Gabrielle Porcaro (Belleville, N.J./Belleville) touched first in the 1,000 free (12:48.32) and 500 free (6:13.96).

Senior Taylor McKay (Fair Lawn, N.J./Fair Lawn) placed first in the 200 fly (2:39.87) and classmate Kerry Doris (East Brunswick, N.J./East Brunswick) won the 200 breast (2:52.04). Freshman Brittany English (Branchville, N.J./High Point Regional) touched first in the 200 free (2:12.18).

William Paterson will travel to Purchase on Saturday, Dec. 1, at 2:00 p.m.
