MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – Junior quarterback Ryan Gresik (Newton, N.J./Newton) threw for three touchdowns, two of them to senior wide receiver Alex Price (Newton, N.J./Newton), and junior cornerback Andre Snead (Atlantic City, N.J./Atlantic City) returned an interception 33 yards for a score as William Paterson (3-4, 1-4 NJAC) rolled to a 31-6 victory at Morrisville State (1-6, 1-4 NJAC) Oct. 20.

The Pioneers found the end zone on the opening drive of the game when Gresik connected with Price for a 38-yard scoring play.  Sophomore Robert Sinegra (Wharton, N.J./Morris Knolls) kicked the extra point and WP owned a 7-0 lead 2:09 into the contest.

The two teams traded punts until late in the first period when the Pioneers started a drive on their own 14-yard line.  Gresik completed a 15-yard pass to junior Mick Paye (Lumberton, N.J./Rancocas Valley Regional) and sophomore Isaac Jlaka (Phillipsburg, N.J./Phillipsburg) picked up six yards on the ground before Gresik and junior wide receiver Howard Davis (Franklin Park, N.J./Franklin) hooked up for a 65-yard touchdown play, making it a 14-0 margin at the 3:59 mark.

Sinegra finished off a 13-play, 59-yard drive with a 37-yard field goal, extending the lead to 17-0 with 9:44 remaining in the first half.  Three plays after the resulting kickoff, Snead picked off his second pass of the season, racing 33 yards into the Mustang end zone (24-0, 8:36).  William Paterson had a chance to add another three points as time expired, but Sinegra's field-goal attempt from 30 yards out missed wide left.

Morrisville State finally got on the scoreboard during the first possession of the second half, capping a 16-play, 89-yard drive with a two-yard Earl Snead run.  Senior defensive lineman Mike Morano (Staten Island, N.Y./St. Joseph by the Sea) blocked the extra-point kick, keeping it at 24-6 with 5:10 to play in the third quarter.

The Pioneers crossed the goal line one last time when Gresik found Price for a 41-yard touchdown with 12:43 on the clock in the fourth quarter.

Gresik finished 22-for-31 for 369 yards and three scores, while Price hauled in four passes for 94 yards and two touchdowns.  Sophomore Mike Vannucci (Bethpage, N.Y./Plainedge) finished with four receptions for 55 yards, and Paye gained 73 yards via three catches.  Jlaka carried 11 times for 45 yards.

Sophomore linebacker Ben Allen (Ventnor, N.J./Atlantic City), senior bandit Stephen Bovo, Jr. (Dunellen, N.J./Dunellen) and junior linebacker David Zurla (Rutherford, N.J./Rutherford) each made six tackles to lead the Pioneer defense.  Senior free safety Javon Hodges (Parlin, N.J./Sayreville War Memorial) added two pass breakups to his five stops.

Jory Tanner was 15-for-31 for 143 yards under center for Morrisville State.  Snead carried 14 times for 77 yards and a score, and AJ Latta caught five passes 35 yards.  Austin Erlwein and Jack Glen each contributed 10 tackles.
