Volleyball Improves to 5-0 with Win at Centenary

Maher, Runge Help Lead Pioneers to Road Victory

Senior Megan Maher led the Pioneers with 13 digs, adding eight kills and three service aces during a 3-1 victory at Centenary.

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – The William Paterson volleyball team improved to 5-0 this season with a 3-1 (21-25, 25-19, 25-22, 25-19) victory at Centenary (2-3) Sept. 8.

Senior outside hitter Megan Maher (Wood-Ridge, N.J./Wood-Ridge) led the Pioneers with 13 digs, adding eight kills and three service aces. The reigning New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Player of the Week, Kim Runge (Closter, N.J./Northern Valley Regional-Demarest) posted 10 digs, three aces and a team-high 12 kills. Junior setter Liz Dykhouse (Wanaque, N.J./Lakeland Regional) chipped in nine assists and 11 digs.

Jelena Markovic led all players with 19 kills. Kelsey Walter paced Centenary with 21 digs.

William Paterson will host a tri-match Saturday, Sept. 10, taking on Manhattanville at 11:00 a.m. and St. Joseph's-Long Island at 3:00 p.m.
