William Paterson (1-1, 0-1 NJAC) welcomes back its alumni and celebrates Homecoming as the Pioneers host Brockport (0-2, 0-1 NJAC) Saturday, Sept. 24, for a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) contest. Kickoff at Wightman Stadium (1,500) will be at 1:00 p.m.

Scouting the Pioneers
William Paterson is 1-1 overall and 0-1 in the NJAC after a 24-6 loss to The College of New Jersey (1-0, 1-0 NJAC) in the Pioneers' home opener Sept. 10. WP began the season with a 13-6 win at King's (0-1) Sept. 3.
Junior
Ryan Gresik (Newton, N.J./Newton) is 5-for-9 for 23 yards under center, and is expected to return to the lineup after missing the TCNJ contest.
Junior tailback
Dawys German (North Arlington, N.J./North Arlington) has rushed 44 times for 222 yards (5.0 yards/carry) and a touchdown. He ranks second in the league with 111.0 yards/game, and is coming off a career-best performance with 133 yards against the Lions.

Chris Manfredo (Staten Island, N.Y./Tottenville) has caught six passes for 78 yards and a score, and sophomore
Ray VanPeenen (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Hills) has five catches for 48 yards.
Senior linebacker
Jim Hamill (Stanhope, N.J./Lenape Valley Regional), a member of the 2009 All-NJAC Team Honorable Mention Team, and junior bandit
Stephen Bovo, Jr. (Dunellen, N.J./Dunellen) each have 16 tackles to tie for the team lead and rate sixth in the NJAC (8.0 tackles/game). Hamill also is tied for the top spot in the conference in tackles for a loss (2.00 per game) and second in sacks (1.25/game).
Senior defensive lineman
Damian DiIorio (Totowa, N.J./Passaic Valley Regional) is the NJAC's sack leader (3.0 total; 1.5/game) while adding 14 tackles, forcing a fumble, and returning one of his two recovered fumbles for a touchdown. Doug Dudek (Rockaway, N.J./Morris Hills) has collected 14 tackles (eight solo), including 3.5 tackles for a loss and 2.0 sacks.
William Paterson returned nine offensive starters and six defensive starters from a 2010 team that got off to its best start since 1992, going 4-1 before mounting injuries took their toll for a 4-6 overall record and a 3-6 mark in NJAC play. The Pioneers, who welcomed back four all-conference selections, were predicted to finish seventh in the 2011 NJAC Preseason Coaches Poll.
Scouting the Golden Eagles
Brockport is 0-2 overall and 0-1 in league play following a 39-32 Homecoming loss to Rowan (1-1, 1-0 NJAC) Sept. 17. The Golden Eagles opened the season with a 19-14 loss at Ithaca (1-0) Sept. 3. Brockport was picked to finish sixth in the 2011 NJAC Preseason Coaches Poll.
Junior quarterback Joe Scibilia leads the league with 236.0 passing yards and 255.0 yards of total offense per game. He is 39-for-68 for 472 yards, three touchdowns and six interceptions. Freshman Tyrone Nichols owns a team-best 61 yards rushing on 16 attempts (3.8 yards/rush), and senior Alex Hendrickson has carried 16 times for 50 yards (3.1 yards/attempt). Junior Jordan Hogan ranks first in the NJAC in receiving yardage (123.5 yards/game) and second in receptions (5.5 per game), catching 11 passes for 247 yards and two touchdowns.
Senior linebacker Alex Hayes led the Golden Eagles with 14 tackles (four solo, 3.0 for loss, 1.0 sack). Junior strong safety Jim Carlson and freshman cornerback Maurice Brown, the Sept. 4 and Sept. 18 NJAC Defensive Rookie of the Week, have collected 13 stops apiece.
Brockport was 2-8 overall and 2-7 in the NJAC last year.
