WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson volleyball team (7-0) earned a pair of victories during its home tri-match Sept. 10, defeating Manhattanville (5-1), 25-15, 25-23, 31-29, and St. Joseph's-Long Island (2-6), 12-25, 25-18, 25-21, 21-25, 15-12. In the third match, Manhattanville earned a 15-25, 25-14, 25-22, 25-22 win against St. Joseph's-Long Island.
Against the Valiants, junior libero
Michelle Mitchell (Secaucus, N.J./Secaucus) collected a team-best 15 digs. The reigning New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Player of the Week,
Kim Runge (Closter, N.J./Northern Valley Regional-Demarest) had 12 kills and 11 digs, while setters
Liz Dykhouse (Wanaque, N.J./Lakeland Regional) and
Danielle Koukos (Midland Park, N.J./Midland Park) each posted 12 assists.
Against the Golden Eagles, senior outside hitter
Megan Maher (Wood-Ridge, N.J./Wood-Ridge) totaled 11 kills and 16 digs, while Runge had 11 kills and nine digs. Mitchell once again led the Pioneers with 17 digs, Dykhouse posted 17 assists and seven digs, and Koukos contributed 12 assists.
William Paterson will play at U.S. Merchant Marine Tuesday, Sept. 13, at 5:30 p.m.
