RIVERDALE, N.Y. – William Paterson (1-0) cruised to a 25-16, 25-13, 25-20 victory at Mount Saint Vincent (0-1) in its volleyball season opener Sept. 1.

Senior outside hitter Kim Runge (Closter, N.J./Northern Valley Regional-Demarest) paced the Pioneers with 10 kills, four service aces and 22 digs, while classmate Megan Maher (Wood-Ridge, N.J./Wood-Ridge) had 10 kills and 15 digs. Junior setter Liz Dykhouse (Wanaque, N.J./Lakeland Regional) contributed 17 assists and 12 digs, and junior libero Michelle Mitchell (Secaucus, N.J./Secaucus) collected 20 digs. Freshman Shauna VanDeRee (Waldwick, N.J./Waldwick) had 12 digs and a pair of block solos in her collegiate debut.

William Paterson will return to action Saturday, Sept. 3, with a tri-match with Saint Elizabeth at Cedar Crest.
