PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The William Paterson women's swimming and diving team finished fourth (340 points) among 13 Division III teams after the third and final day of competition at the 2011 Metropolitan Championships Feb. 20 in Piscataway, N.J.
The 400 free relay of junior
Lesly Mendoza (Passaic, N.J./Paramus Catholic), senior
Tara Graham (Rockaway, N.J./Morris Hills), junior
Brett Kuchin (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill East) and freshman
Giuliana Trapani (Mountain Lakes, N.J./Mountain Lakes) placed eighth in the A Final in a time of 3:47.83.
Graham was eighth in the B Final (2:17.58), freshman
Lauren Carney (East Brunswick, N.J./East Brunswick) was fifth in the C Final (2:21.65) and sophomore
Kerry Doris (East Brunswick, N.J./East Brunswick) was sixth in the C Final (2:22.54) in the 200 back.
Trapani touched fifth in the 100 free C Final (56.85), Kuchin placed fifth in the 200 breast C Final (2:36.60), and senior
Lauren Horowitz (Hillsborough, N.J./Hillsborough) finished 19th in the 1,650 free (19:25.86).
In the 200 fly C Final, Mendoza was first (2:24.05), junior
Stephanie Smith (West Orange, N.J./West Orange) placed third (2:27.33) and sophomore
Taylor McKay (Fair Lawn, N.J./Fair Lawn) finished fifth (2:33.23).
William Paterson finished the season with a 12-3 overall dual-meet record and a 1-3 slate in New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) action.
