Women's Swimming & Diving Completes First Day at Metropolitan Championships

The Pioneers were sixth of 13 Division III teams after the first day of the Metropolitan Championships.
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The William Paterson women's swimming and diving team was sixth of 13 Division III teams after the first day of competition at the 2011 Metropolitan Championships Feb. 18 in Piscataway, N.J.

The 400 medley relay team of freshman Lauren Carney (East Brunswick, N.J./East Brunswick), junior Brett Kuchin (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill East), junior Lesly Mendoza (Passaic, N.J./Paramus Catholic) and freshman Giuliana Trapani (Mountain Lakes, N.J./Mountain Lakes) was seventh in the A Final with a time of 4:16.37. The 200 free relay team of sophomore Taylor McKay (Fair Lawn, N.J./Fair Lawn), Kuchin, senior Tara Graham (Rockaway, N.J./Morris Hills) and Trapani was eighth in the A Final (1:44.00), and Kuchin touched eighth in the 200 IM C Final (2:20.99).

William Paterson will continue competition at the Metropolitan Championship Feb. 19.
