WAYNE, N.J. – Four Pioneers were double winners as the William Paterson women's swimming and diving team (3-1) defeated Purchase (0-2), 99-82, Oct. 31 at Wightman Pool.
Freshman
Sheri Brino (Ogdensburg, N.J./Wallkill Valley Regional) finished first in the 500 (6:00.46) and 1,000 (12:25.31) frees, and classmate
Courtney Starace (Toms River, N.J./Toms River East) won the 100 fly (1:10.46) and 100 breast (1:19.43).
Sophomore
Lauren Carney (East Brunswick, N.J./East Brunswick) touched first in the 200 free (2:11.6) and 100 back (1:07.9), while senior
Brett Kuchin (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill East) earned victories in the 50 (27.49) and 100 (1:01.7) frees.
Senior
Lesly Mendoza (Passaic, N.J./Paramus Catholic) placed first in the 200 IM (2:35.4), and sophomore
Katie Jeon (Fort Lee, N.J./Fort Lee) won the one-meter dive (144.90).
The Pioneers will compete at Maritime Wednesday, Nov. 2, at 6:00 p.m.
