Megan Maher (Wood-Ridge, N.J./Wood-Ridge) collected her 1,000th career kill and the William Paterson volleyball team (17-10) celebrated Senior Night with a 3-0 victory against John Jay (3-22) in the Pioneers' regular-season finale Oct. 27.
Sixth-seeded WP will play at third-seeded Rowan in the first round of the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Tournament Tuesday, Nov. 1, at 7:00 p.m.
William Paterson defeated the Bloodhounds 25-13, 25-11, 25-12. Maher finished with 11 kills to give her 1,005 for her career. Senior
Kim Runge (Closter, N.J./Northern Valley Regional-Demarest) had a double-double with team bests of 13 kills and 10 digs. Junior setter
Liz Dykhouse (Wanaque, N.J./Lakeland Regional) had 14 assists, five kills and five digs, and freshman setter
Danielle Koukos (Midland Park, N.J./Midland Park) posted 10 assists. Junior libero
Michelle Mitchell (Secaucus, N.J./Secaucus) added seven digs.
Martina Hot led John Jay with five kills. Rocio Chavira had seven digs, and Katherine Bonilla posted eight assists.
Prior to the match, the Pioneers honored their graduating class of Maher, Mitchell and Runge.
