Kim Runge (Closter, N.J./Northern Valley Regional-Demarest) had a double-double with 15 kills and 15 digs, but William Paterson (14-5, 2-4 NJAC) suffered a 3-0 volleyball loss to Ramapo (15-4, 5-1 NJAC) Oct. 13.
Neither team led by more than three during the opening set, but with the score tied at 25-25, Michelle Ferrari put down a kill and the Pioneers had a hitting error to give the Roadrunners a 27-25 victory. A 6-2 run turned a 14-12 edge into a 20-14 lead, and Ramapo pulled away for a 25-19 second-set victory. The Roadrunners held off a late WP rally to finish the match with a 25-19 win in the third.
Junior setter
Liz Dykhouse (Wanaque, N.J./Lakeland Regional) posted 19 assists and six kills, senior outside hitter
Megan Maher (Wood-Ridge, N.J./Wood-Ridge) contributed seven kills and 15 digs, and junior libero
Michelle Mitchell (Secaucus, N.J./Secaucus) had 14 digs. Freshman setter
Danielle Koukos (Midland Park, N.J./Midland Park) chipped in 10 assists and eight digs for the Pioneers.
Ferrari led Ramapo with 15 kills, adding 16 digs. Junior Julia Tuzio had 14 kills, senior Tiffany Fischer collected 44 assists and seven digs, and senior libero Elizabeth Steck collected 17 digs.
William Paterson will play in a tri-match at Sage College Saturday, Oct. 15, starting at 2:00 p.m.
