WAYNE, N.J. – Three Pioneers were double winners as William Paterson (3-1) defeated Lehman (2-2), 9-0, in women's tennis action Sept. 15 at the William Paterson Tennis Courts.

Senior Delnaz Shalforoosh (Haworth, N.J./Northern Valley Regional-Demarest) and freshman Mary Skretkowicz (Midland Park, N.J./Midland Park) earned an 8-1 victory at first doubles, while sophomore Sonja Pedersen (Rockaway, N.J./Morris Knolls) and freshman Justine Lawson (Haskell, N.J./Lakeland Regional) were 8-6 winners at second doubles.

Pedersen earned a 6-2, 6-0 win at first singles, followed by Skretkowicz with a 6-1, 6-0 victory at second. Shalforoosh won her match at third singles, 6-2, 6-3, and freshman Maris Ferreira (Ridgewood, N.J./Ridgewood) was victorious at fourth, 6-1, 5-7, 10-3.

The Lightning forfeited at third doubles and fifth and sixth singles.

William Paterson will next compete Wednesday, Sept. 22, against Rutgers-Newark at 4:00 p.m.
