WAYNE, N.J. – Junior
Brett Kuchin (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill East) was a triple winner to lead the William Paterson women's swimming and diving team (7-1) to a 142-95 victory against Marywood (1-4) Nov. 17 at Wightman Pool.
Kuchin touched first in the 50 breast (33.67), 100 breast (1:12.40), and 200 IM (2:27.22). Senior
Lauren Horowitz (Hillsborough, N.J./Hillsborough) posted a victory in a very exciting finish to the 1,000 free (12:18.36), and freshman
Lauren Carney (East Brunswick, N.J./East Brunswick) won the 50 (30.92) and 100 (1:06.97) backs.
Junior
Lesly Mendoza (Passaic, N.J./Paramus Catholic) had victories in the 50 (29.77) and 100 (1:06.19) flies, freshman
Giuliana Trapani (Mountain Lakes, N.J./Mountain Lakes) added wins in the 50 (26.89) and 100 (58.33) frees, sophomore
Taylor McKay (Fair Lawn, N.J./Fair Lawn) touched first in the 500 free (5:59.91), and freshman
Katie Jeon (Fort Lee, N.J./Fort Lee) won the one-meter dive (78.83).
The 200 free relay team of
Tara Graham (Rockaway, N.J./Morris Hills), McKay,
Stephanie Smith (West Orange, N.J./West Orange) and Trapani won in a time of 1:50.79.
The Pioneers will enjoy an extended break, returning to competition Thursday, Dec. 9, against FDU-Florham at 6:00 p.m.
