Volleyball Uses Balanced Effort in 3-1 Victory

Pioneers Defeat Visiting King's

Sophomore Liz Dykhouse posted 21 assists and 12 digs during a 3-1 victory against King's.

WAYNE, N.J. – Four different Pioneers were in double figures in kills as William Paterson (13-3) defeated visiting King's (4-11), 3-1, Oct. 9.

The Pioneers won the first two sets, 25-20 and 25-14, before the Lady Monarchs squeaked out a 25-21 victory in the third. William Paterson finished off the match with a 25-17 fourth-set win.

Junior Megan Maher (Wood-Ridge, N.J./Wood-Ridge) posted 17 kills and 14 digs, while senior Michelle Leeder (Ridgefield, N.J./Ridgefield Memorial) had 17 kills and 21 digs. Junior Kim Runge (Closter, N.J./Northern Valley Regional-Demarest) collected 12 kills and a match-high 32 digs, and senior Jillian Bronowich (Secaucus, N.J./Secaucus) registered 25 assist and 12 digs. Sophomore Liz Dykhouse (Wanaque, N.J./Lakeland Regional) contributed 21 assists and 12 digs, classmate Kelly Shaw (Wallington, N.J./Wallington) had 12 kills, and sophomore Michelle Mitchell (Secaucus, N.J./Secaucus) tallied 13 digs.

Heather Bowman led King's with 11 kills, adding 16 digs. Jillian Foster had 19 digs, and Kelly Greenway collected 25 assists.

The Pioneers will host Rutgers-Camden Tuesday, Oct. 12, at 7:00 p.m.
