WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson women's swimming and diving team (1-1) opened its home slate with a 110-87 victory against St. Joseph's-Long Island (0-1) Oct. 26.
Freshman
Giuliana Trapani (Mountain Lakes, N.J./Mountain Lakes) was a double winner for the Pioneers, touching first in the 100 (58.80) and 200 (2:10.86) frees. Senior
Lauren Horowitz (Hillsborough, N.J./Hillsborough) also won a pair of events with first-place efforts in the 500 (6:14.72) and 1,000 (12:37.00) frees.
Freshman
Lauren Carney (East Brunswick, N.J./East Brunswick) won the 50 free (28.00), sophomore
Taylor McKay (Fair Lawn, N.J./Fair Lawn) touched first in the 100 fly (1:08.36), and junior
Brett Kuchin (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill East) turned in a winning effort in the 100 breast (1:14.65).
The 200 medley relay team of Carney, Kuchin, Mendoza and McKay touched first in a time of 2:00.97.
The Pioneer men and women will return to action Thursday, Oct. 28, at Baruch at 6:00 p.m.
