WAYNE, N.J. – Wins in five of the six singles matches carried the William Paterson women's tennis team (3-2) to a 7-2 victory against visiting Lancaster Bible (0-6) Sept. 19.

Senior Heidi Busch (Lakehurst, N.J./Manchester Twp.) earned a 6-1, 6-0 victory against Carolyn Kensinger at first singles, while classmate Lisa Varacallo (Monroe Twp., N.J./Monroe Twp.) was a 6-4, 6-4 winner at second singles against Brianna Funk.

Junior Delnaz Shalforoosh (Haworth, N.J./Northern Valley Regional-Demarest) was a 6-2, 4-0, retired victor against Kayla Scott at fourth singles, while sophomore Meghan Crampton (Branchville, N.J./High Point Regional) defeated Ashley Bell 7-6 (7-4), 6-0 at fifth singles, and classmate Kimberly Seabeck (Montague, N.J./Port Jervis) defeated Becky Griffes 6-0, 6-0 at sixth singles.

Busch and freshman Janna Domenico (Hammonton, N.J./Hammonton) were 8-0 winners against Kelsey Scott and Stephanie LaPearle at second doubles, and senior Stavroula Ploumitsakos (Lakehurst, N.J./Manchester Twp.) and junior Jacqueline Jesus (Monroe Twp., N.J./Monroe Twp.) teamed up for an 8-1 win against Bell and Griffes at third doubles.

William Paterson will play at Rutgers-Newark Wednesday, Sept. 23, at 4:30 p.m.
