Men's Basketball Returns to Action with 10-Point Victory

Pioneers Defeat Buffalo State, 67-57, at CCNY Tournament

Senior Tim Lucas had 20 points and seven rebounds in a 67-57 win against Buffalo State.

NEW YORK, N.Y. -- Senior Tim Lucas (Old Bridge, N.J./Old Bridge) was one of four Pioneers in double figures with a game-best 20 points, leading the William Paterson men's basketball team (10-1) to a 67-57 victory against Buffalo State (1-2) in the first round of CCNY's Coaches vs. Cancer Tournament Dec. 29.

William Paterson will play the winner of the CCNY/Old Westbury game in the tournament final Wednesday, Dec. 30, at 3:00 p.m.

Lucas added three assists and a team-high seven rebounds in the winning effort.  Senior Abdoulaye Ouedraogo (Newark, N.J./Newark Science) had 12 points and five boards, classmate Joseph Ellis (Newark, N.J./Newark Science) posted 11 tallies and junior Gabriel Paul (Hillside, N.J./Hillside) contributed 10 points and six rebounds.

Justin Mitchell led the Bengals with 13 points, and Jake Simmons had 12 tallies.
