Pioneers Defeat Lehman, 74-54, Behind Lucas' 24 Points

BRONX, N.Y. – The No. 13/15 William Paterson women's basketball team improved to 10-0 this season with a 74-54 victory at Lehman (3-7) Dec. 17.

Sophomore BriAnna Lucas (Hamilton, N.J./Nottingham) was 7-for-14 (.500) from the floor and 4-for-7 (.571) from three-point range for 24 points. Senior Julie Haledjian (Montvale, N.J./Pascack Hills) scored 20 tallies on 7-for-11 (.636) shooting, adding five assists and six steals. Classmate Erin Cook (Princeton, N.J./Princeton) led the Pioneers on the boards with 13 rebounds, and freshman Allyson Scerbo (Phillipsburg, N.J./Phillipsburg) added eight points and six caroms.

William Paterson entered the locker room with a 35-17 lead, thanks to a Lucas trey from midcourt during the period's closing seconds, as the Pioneers never trailed the host Lightning. Melissa St. Louis paced Lehman with 17 points and 10 rebounds.

William Paterson will visit Mount Saint Mary Monday, Dec. 21, at 7:00 p.m.
