Men's Swimming & Diving Wins Fourth Straight

Pioneers Defeat Lehman, 123-84

Senior Kirk Smith placed first in the 200 IM (2:10.96) and the 100 breast (1:05.99).
WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson men's swimming and diving team (4-1) defeated Lehman (1-3), 123-84, on Parents Appreciation Day Nov. 14 at Wightman Pool.

Junior Andrew Scimeca (Lincoln Park, N.J./Boonton) won the one-meter (214.75) and three-meter (180.60) dives, one of four double winners for the Pioneers. Senior Kirk Smith (West Orange, N.J./West Orange) placed first in the 200 IM (2:10.96) and the 100 breast (1:05.99), while senior Voyta Karas (Brno, Czech Republic) won the 100 (48.76) and 200 (1:50.05) frees. Sophomore Edward Zappile (Oak Ridge, N.J./Jefferson Twp.) touched first in the 500 (5:22.21) and 1,000 (11:08.43) frees, senior Stefan Rosales (Rahway, N.J./St. Joseph's-Metuchen) was victorious in the 100 back (59.39), and sophomore Jeremy Lim (Clifton, N.J./Clifton) won the 100 fly (57.33). Freshman Sebastian Schrils (Washington, N.J./Warren Hills Regional) added a winning time of 23.39 in the 50 free.

William Paterson will compete at Arcadia Wednesday, Nov. 18, at 6:00 p.m.
