Volleyball Extends Win Streak to Seven with 3-0 Victory at John Jay

Pioneers Defeat Bloodhounds 25-10, 25-9, 25-16

Senior Amanda Mitchell led the Pioneers with nine digs during a 3-0 win at John Jay.

NEW YORK, N.Y. – William Paterson won its seventh straight match and improved to 13-3 this season with a 3-0 victory (25-10, 25-9, 25-16) at John Jay (3-16) Oct. 8.

Senior Kelly Helfrich (Clark, N.J./Arthur L. Johnson) contributed a match-best nine service aces and 12 kills. Classmate Amanda Mitchell (Secaucus, N.J./Secaucus) led the Pioneers with nine digs, adding four aces, while sophomore Megan Maher (Wood-Ridge, N.J./Wood-Ridge) posted 12 assists and eight digs.

Justyna Kopec paced the Bloodhounds with five kills. Katherine Higuera-McCoy added nine digs.

William Paterson will play in a tri-match at Centenary Saturday, Oct. 10. The Pioneers will face Cabrini at 3:00 p.m., followed by the host Cyclones at 5:00 p.m.
