WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson men's swimming and diving team evened its record at 1-1 with a 114-93 victory against visiting Baruch (0-1) Oct. 29.
Sophomore
Edward Zappile (Oak Ridge, N.J./Jefferson Twp.) was a double winner for the Pioneers, taking first place in the 500 (5:22.09) and 1,000 (11:08.72) frees. Senior Voyta
Karas (Brno, Czech Republic) won the 50 (22.11) and 100 (50.29) frees, while junior
Andrew Scimeca (Lincoln Park, N.J./Boonton) won both the one-meter required (120.50) and optional (129.90) dives.
Senior
Danny Lynch (Rockaway, N.J./St. Francis Prep) touched first in the 200 fly (2:20.25), and senior
Stefan Rosales (Rahway, N.J./St. Joseph's-Metuchen) won the 200 back (2:11.38). The 400 medley relay team of Rosales,
Kirk Smith (West Orange, N.J./West Orange),
Jeremy Lim (Clifton, N.J./Clifton) and Karas posted a winning time of 3:50.19.
William Paterson will compete at the Mount Saint Mary Invitational Saturday, Oct. 31.
