WAYNE, N.J. – William Paterson (16-6) celebrated Senior Night with a 3-0 (25-22, 25-21, 25-18) victory against St. Joseph's-Long Island (16-11) Oct. 22.

Senior Kelly Helfrich (Clark, N.J./Arthur L. Johnson) put away a match-best 11 kills while adding four aces, 12 digs and four total blocks (three solo). Classmate Amanda Mitchell (Secaucus, N.J./Secaucus) posted 12 digs during her final regular-season match at the Rec Center.

Junior Jillian Bronowich (Secaucus, N.J./Secaucus) had 11 assists, sophomore Megan Maher (Wood-Ridge, N.J./Wood-Ridge) contributed 15 assists and seven digs, and junior Michelle Leeder (Ridgefield, N.J./Ridgefield Memorial) tallied 11 digs and four kills. Freshman Kelly Shaw (Wallington, N.J./Wallington) chipped in with eight kills for the Pioneers.

Melissa O'Connell led the Golden Eagles with seven kills, while Shannon Dempsey had a match-high 24 digs. Meghan Caiazzo and Natalie Czelowalnik each had nine assists.

William Paterson will next compete Saturday, Oct. 24, in a quad match at U.S. Merchant Marine beginning at 11:00 a.m.
