SEWELL, N.J. -- Senior Courtney Nelson (Newark, N.J./Bloomfield Tech) drained six three-pointers on his way to 26 points as No. 25 William Paterson (12-2, 4-1 NJAC) breezed past host Rutgers-Camden (4-12, 0-5 NJAC), 70-34, Jan. 17. Junior Tim Lucas (Old Bridge, N.J./Old Bridge) had eight steals and five assists for the Pioneers, while classmate Manny Perrotte (Piscataway, N.J./Piscataway) added seven tallies.

The Pioneers shot 50.9 (29-57) percent from the field overall and 52.9 (9-17) percent from three-point range in registering their largest margin of victory this season. The 34 points allowed also matched the season low for a William Paterson team that began the week third in Division III in scoring defense (58.0 ppg), as the Pioneers held the Scarlet Raptors to 13-for-40 (.325) shooting and turned 31 Camden miscues into a 38-8 advantage in points scored off turnovers.

Lucas and Bobby Dunn (Garwood, N.J./Arthur L. Johnson) each scored six points for WP. Freshman Robert Whetham (North Haledon, N.J./Passaic Valley) and junior Chris Brown (Newark, N.J./Newark Science) tied for the team lead with four rebounds apiece.

Rory Thornton paced Rutgers-Camden with eight points, and Tarik Hanton added six points.
