WAYNE, N.J. – Despite a victory at first doubles to begin the match, the William Paterson tennis team (1-3) dropped a 7-2 decision to Baruch (5-2) Sept. 29 at the WP Tennis Courts.

Senior Rachel Menzzopane (Neptune, N.J./Neptune) and junior Lisa Varacallo (Monroe Twp., N.J./Monroe Twp.) combined for an 8-6 win at first doubles against Baruch's Monika Maiellano and Alexandra Vamanu. The Pioneers' other victory came at fifth singles, a 6-2, 6-2 win for Heidi Busch (Lakehurst, N.J./Manchester Twp.) against Vamanu.

The Pioneers will take host NJAC foe Rutgers-Newark Wednesday, Oct. 1, at 4:00 p.m.
