Volleyball's All-Around Play Earns 3-1 Win at Baruch

Pioneers Improve to 7-1 this Season

NEW YORK, N.Y. – Thanks to an excellent all-around team effort, the William Paterson volleyball team (7-1) earned a hard-fought 3-1 victory at Baruch (5-5) Sept. 18.

After dropping a close 23-25 decision during the first set, the Pioneers battled back to win the match 25-17, 25-17, 25-23. Junior Kelly Helfrich (Clark, N.J./Arthur L. Johnson) led the William Paterson attack with a match-best 17 kills, adding 14 digs and three block solos. Freshman Megan Maher (Wood-Ridge, N.J./Wood-Ridge) added her second career triple-double with 13 kills, 12 assists and 11 digs, while sophomore Jillian Bronowich (Secaucus, N.J./Secaucus) posted 20 assists. Junior Amanda Mitchell (Secaucus, N.J./Secaucus) led the Pioneer defense with 15 digs.

William Paterson will resume play at Lehman Saturday, Sept. 20, at 7:00 p.m.
