NEW YORK, N.Y. – Twelve different Pioneers got into the scoring column as the William Paterson men's basketball team (9-1) cruised to a 62-34 victory at CCNY (0-10) Dec. 30.
The 28-point victory, the seventh straight for the Pioneers, was spurred by a William Paterson defensive effort that forced 21 Beaver turnovers, held CCNY to 13-of-45 (.289) shooting and allowed just 34 points, one shy of the Pioneers' single-game record of 33 (vs. CCNY, 12/1/07).

Joseph Ellis (Newark, N.J./Newark Science) led a balanced offensive effort, scoring 12 points while adding two steals. Junior guard
Tim Lucas (Old Bridge, N.J./Old Bridge) had eight tallies, while junior forward
Chris Brown (Newark, N.J./Newark Science) contributed seven points and five rebounds.
William Paterson owned a 35-18 halftime lead, and shot 43.5 (20-46) percent from the field while outscoring CCNY 19-5 in points off turnovers.
Preston Uwoghiren paced the Beavers with nine points and six rebounds.
William Paterson will resume New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) play Wednesday, Jan. 7, at New Jersey City at 8:00 p.m.
