Football to Play at Kean Nov. 8 in Final Regular-Season Road Game

William Paterson (3-5, 2-5 NJAC) will try to win its two remaining games to finish the season at .500, starting with a contest at Kean (5-3, 4-3 NJAC) Saturday, Nov. 8. Kickoff at Kean Alumni Stadium (5,300) will be at 1:00 p.m. Live online statistics will be available at www.keanathletics.com.

SCOUTING WILLIAM PATERSON
William Paterson is 3-5 overall and 2-5 in New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) play following a 51-24 victory against Buffalo State Nov. 1 at Wightman Stadium.
 
Junior Matt Marshall (6-3, 195, Burlington, N.J./Burlington City) is 146-for-258 (.566) for 1,692 yards, 16 touchdowns and 11 interceptions under center. He ranks third in the NJAC in passing yards/game (211.5 yards/game). 

Senior Shaun Puluse (5-10, 210, Haledon, N.J./Passaic Tech), a 2007 honorable-mention all-NJAC selection, leads the Pioneers' ground game with 122 carries for 466 yards (3.8 yards/attempt) and a score, averaging 53.1 yards/game to rank sixth in the conference. He has also caught 15 passes for 62 yards and a TD. Sophomore Marcus McKinney (5-11, 220, Paterson, N.J./John F. Kennedy) has carried 40 times during the last five games for 202 yards (5.0 yards/attempt) and two scores, and has caught 11 passes for 75 yards and a touchdown. 

Junior Joel Rivera (6-1, 190, Hoboken, N.J./Hoboken), the Sept. 28 NJAC and ECAC Southeast Region Offensive Player of the Week, has caught a league-best 58 passes (7.2 per game, 19th in Division III) for 809 yards and six touchdowns. His 101.1 receiving yards/game rate first in the NJAC (28th in NCAA), and his 123.4 all-purpose yards/game rank sixth in the conference statistics. At Rowan Sept. 27, he established new school records with 16 catches and 226 yards. His 161 receiving yards against Buffalo State (Nov. 1) broke the Pioneers' single-season receiving yardage record, givinghim 809 to eclipse the 736 established by Bryant Richardson during the 2001 campaign. 

Junior linebacker and 2007 second-team all-NJAC pick Jared Burke (6-1, 220, Egg Harbor Twp., N.J./Egg Harbor Twp.) leads the Pioneers with 50 total tackles (25 solo, 8.0 TFL, 1.5 sacks). He is 15th in the NJAC in tackles/game (7.1), tied for ninth in TFL/game (1.14), and has added a forced fumble and a blocked PAT. Sophomore defensive lineman Dyon Moore (6-2, 260, Brooklyn, N.Y./Hudson Catholic) has made 49 stops (21 solo, 21st in NJAC with 6.1 tackles/game), is the team leader with 11.5 TFL (1.44 pg, tied-third in league), and 4.5 sacks (seventh in NJAC). Moore, the Sept. 7 NJAC Defensive Player of the Week, is tied atop the conference with three forced fumbles, and has recovered three (0.38 pg, tied-sixth in league), returning one for a touchdown. Junior defensive lineman Keith Sayball (6-0, 220, Milford, Conn./Foran) has made 40 stops (19 solo, 8.0 TFL, 2.0 sacks) and is 15th in the NJAC statistics in TFL/game (1.00). 

The Pioneers returned 51 letterwinners, eight offensive starters and six defensive starters from a 2007 team that posted a 5-5 overall record and a 3-4 mark in NJAC play.

SCOUTING KEAN 
The Cougars are 5-3 overall and 4-3 in NJAC play following a 30-22 road loss against Rowan Nov. 1 

The Kean passing game is led by freshman quarterback Tom D'Ambrisi (5-10, 180, Eatontown, N.J./Monmouth Regional), who is 101-for-157 (.643) for 1342 yards with 13 touchdowns and seven interceptions this season. Junior running back Jared Chunn (5-9, 170, Tinton Falls, N.J./Monmouth Regional) leads the NJAC in rushing with 1195 yards on 194 carries with 10 touchdowns on the ground and one receiving, while senior Durell Dukes (5-11, 190, Elizabeth, N.J./Elizabeth) is second in the conference with a team-best 47 catches for 750 yards with 10 receiving touchdowns. Dukes has also scored three times via the rush. Sophomore linebacker Victor D'Arrigo (5-9, 220, Staten Island, N.Y./Port Richmond) leads the Cougars' defense with 41 tackles (29 solo, 3.5 TFL, 2 FR), while senior defensive lineman Tony Olamiju (5-11, 250, Teaneck, N.J./Teaneck) has 28 tackles (11 solo), and a team-best 8.5 tackles for a loss with a pair of sacks. Sophomore defensive back Chris Lauda (5-11, 165, Staten Island, N.Y./Curtis) has 15 tackles (12 solo) and leads the team with three interceptions. 

Kean posted a 5-5 overall record and a 3-4 mark in the NJAC during the 2007 season.
