WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson volleyball team (13-4) swept a pair of matches as the Pioneers hosted a Homecoming Tri-Match Oct. 11 at the Rec Center.
William Paterson began the day with a 25-8, 25-3, 25-15 win against Brooklyn College (5-8). Junior middle hitter
Kelly Helfrich (Clark, N.J./Arthur L. Johnson) had 12 kills, eight digs and four block solos, freshman setter/outside hitter
Megan Maher (Wood-Ridge, N.J./Wood-Ridge) added nine assists, and sophomore setter
Jillian Bronowich (Secaucus, N.J./Secaucus) chipped in eight assists. Freshman libero
Alyssa Koukos (Midland Park, N.J./Midland Park) contributed six digs to the victory.
The Pioneers ran away with a 25-2, 25-3, 25-3 win against New York City Tech (2-10) in the night cap. Helfrich posted 10 kills, Bronowich collected 13 assists, and junior opposite hitter
Samantha Reed (Dumont, N.J./Dumont) served seven aces.
William Paterson will return to action Tuesday, Oct. 14, at Montclair State at 7:00 p.m.
