QUEENS , N.Y. – The William Paterson women's tennis team (1-3) battled Baruch (4-3) but eventually dropped a 5-4 decision Sept. 29 at York College (N.Y.).
Junior
Joanna Jakobik (Garfield, N.J./Garfield) won her match at second singles, 6-1, 6-4; while senior
Cristina Reilly (Seaville, N.J./Wildwood Catholic) fought back for a 1-6, 6-4, 13-11 win at fifth singles. Sophomore
Evelyn Tam (Paterson, N.J./Passaic Tech) notched a 6-0, 6-0 victory at sixth singles.
Reilly teamed with junior
Ashley Hessenkemper (Brick, N.J./Brick Twp.) for an 8-3 victory at third doubles.
The Pioneers will return to action Wednesday, Oct. 3, at Rutgers-Newark at 4:00 p.m.
