Box Score
BROOKLYN, N.Y. – Senior Jason Cameron (Cliffside Park, N.J./Cliffside Park) scored a team-best 16 points as the William Paterson men's basketball team (2-1) earned a 66-59 victory at New York City Tech (0-3) Nov. 20.
William Paterson went into the locker room at halftime with a 37-36 lead, but City Tech pushed ahead 42-41 on a three-pointer by Omar Mahoney with 15:24 to play. The lead changed hands several times until Pioneers sophomore guard Bobby Dunn (Garwood, N.J./Johnson Regional) tied the score at 54-54 when he converted an offensive rebound off of a missed three-pointer, and was fouled on the play. He made the free throw for a three-point play of his own, which gave the Pioneers the lead for good. William Paterson then held the Yellow Jackets scoreless until the final minute, going on a 12-4 run to end the game.
Freshman Gabriel Paul (Hillside, N.J./Hillside) and Dunn each contributed 10 points for the Pioneers.
William Paterson will enjoy a break for the Thanksgiving holiday, returning to action Wednesday, Nov. 28, at 7:00 p.m. when the Pioneers open their home schedule against John Jay.
