WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The William Paterson volleyball team (21-11) finished its regular season with a split of two matches at King's Oct. 27, losing to the hosts, 1-3 (30-24, 14-30, 21-30, 18-30), and defeating SUNY IT, 3-0 (30-16, 30-24, 30-25).

Sophomore Kelly Helfrich (Clark, N.J./Arthur L. Johnson) led the Pioneers against King's with 16 kills and three block solos. Senior setter/outsider hitter Dana Hansen (Fair Lawn, N.J./Fair Lawn) had 20 assists and nine digs, freshman Jillian Bronowich (Secaucus, N.J./Secaucus) added 16 assists and 12 digs, and sophomore Samantha Reed (Dumont, N.J./Dumont) posted 14 digs to go along with eight kills.

In the nightcap against SUNY IT, Helfrich again led the way with 13 kills and five block solos, adding 10 digs. Reed contributed 16 digs, Hansen had 16 assists and nine kills, and senior Tamara Miller (Maplewood, N.J./Columbia) added eight kills and eight digs.

William Paterson will play in the first round of the NJAC Tournament Tuesday, Oct. 30, at Montclair State at 7:00 p.m.
