GLENSIDE, Pa. – The William Paterson volleyball team (20-9) split a pair of matches at Arcadia Oct. 21, earning its 20th victory of the season in the process.
The Pioneers began the day with a 3-1 loss to Misericordia (19-30, 30-23, 25-30, 29-31). Sophomore
Kelly Helfrich (Clark, N.J./Arthur L. Johnson) had 14 kills, 15 digs and eight blocks, while senior
Tamara Miller (Maplewood, N.J./Columbia) posted a double-double with 14 kills and 10 digs. Senior setter/outsider hitter
Dana Hansen (Fair Lawn, N.J./Fair Lawn) contributed 22 assists, sophomore
Samantha Reed (Dumont, N.J./Dumont) chipped in with 21 digs, and classmate
Amanda Mitchell (Secaucus, N.J./Secaucus) added 11 digs.
William Paterson finished the day with a 30-27, 30-21, 32-30 victory against Arcadia. Helfrich again had a double-double with 12 kills and 17 digs. Miller contributed 12 kills and nine digs, Hansen had 17 assists, and Reed collected 26 digs. Mitchell posted 16 digs, freshman
Jillian Bronowich (Secaucus, N.J./Secaucus) added 10 assists, and junior
Mailyn Rodriguez (Hackensack, N.J./Hackensack) chipped in seven kills.
William Paterson will play its final home match of the regular season Tuesday, Oct. 23, against Ramapo at 7:00 p.m.
