WAYNE , N.J. – The William Paterson volleyball team (13-5, 2-3 NJAC) fell to local rival Montclair State (12-10, 3-2 NJAC), 3-1, Oct. 2 at the Pioneers' Rec Center.
The Red Hawks earned the victory by scores of 30-22, 30-19, 28-30 and 30-24. Montclair State sophomore Raisa Silva
paced her team with 54 assists, classmate Kara Burnham had 20 kills, and sophomore Anna Chesnakova added 16 kills and four block assists. Sophomore Meghan Stevens contributed a match-best 32 digs for MSU.

Kelly Helfrich (Clark, N.J./Arthur L. Johnson) led the Pioneers with 16 kills, adding 13 digs, while classmate
Samantha Reed (Dumont, N.J./Dumont) had 20 digs and 10 kills. Senior
Dana Hansen (Fair Lawn, N.J./Fair Lawn) notched 30 assists, and senior
Tamara Miller (Maplewood, N.J./Columbia) chipped in with 12 kills.
William Paterson will next host Centenary Thursday, Oct. 4, at 7:00 p.m. Montclair will take on Manhattanville and St. Joseph's-Patchogue Friday, Oct. 5, at FDU-Florham.
