No. 12 William Patersn Rolls Past Rutgers-Camden

CAMDEN, N.J. (DECEMBER 9, 2006) - Forty points off turnovers helped the No. 12 William Paterson men's basketball team (7-1, 2-0 NJAC) roll past host Rutgers-Camden (4-3, 0-2 NJAC), 82-35.

The Pioneer defense forced the Scarlet Raptors into 36 turnovers and 26.3 (10-38) percent shooting as William Paterson outscored Rutgers-Camden 34-6 in the paint and 40-7 in bench points.

Junior Joey Spiegel (Teaneck, N.J./Teaneck) led the Pioneers with 13 points. Junior Jason Cameron (Cliffside Park, N.J./Cliffside Park) added 11 points, making three of four three-pointers, while senior all-American Luis Martinez (Passaic, N.J./Clifton) posted 10 tallies. Senior John Rother (Sodus Point, N.Y./Sodus Central) led WPU with seven rebounds and chipped in nine points.

William Paterson will next play at FDU-Florham Wednesday, Dec. 13, at 7:00 p.m.
